GB&D Video: New Orleans BioInnovation Center
In the lead-up to Greenbuild, the architects behind the LEED Gold biotech hub give us an exclusive tour of their landmark project
“The reason New Orleans exists is because of its relationship with water.” These words open “New Orleans BioInnovation Center: Resiliency in Design,” an exclusive tour of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple’s LEED Gold biotech incubator, opened in 2011.
The voice is architect Mark Ripple’s, and he and principal Z Smith walk us through the ways in which the 65,000-square-foot lab building uses sustainable design to recycle stormwater, mitigate solar gain, and foster biotech innovation.
