Project Spotlight: Lamar Advertising
For a recent pursuit, our team went back to our friends at Lamar to talk about how the design of their new headquarters has impacted their company culture. Although the staff and management at Lamar were previously accustomed to interacting in organized, group social settings, such as their communal lunchroom, the workplace they occupied didn’t facilitate casual, impromptu meetings and conversations.
When designing their office, we tried to replicate and build on the success of the shared spaces, while opening up the workspace—horizontally and floor-to-floor—to improve connectivity among departments and foster informal collaboration. We worked with them to build and grow a healthy company culture.
Workplace culture isn’t created overnight. Just as every design is a unique solution to a problem, every company’s culture requires a specialized space that allows room for evolution. As architects, it’s our job to build a solid foundation from which culture can grow.
